Project Children’s Rights Infrastructure Online (CRIO) aims to reinforce children’s rights online as well as child protection mechanisms online.
CRIO involves:
- Youngster participation:
- Expand and improve youngster participation mechanisms within European and national policy-making and policy implementation on children’s rights and child protection online so that these become youngster-driven;
- European and national law:
- Aligning existing legislation in adjacent legal fields with requirements derived from the practical implementation of existing legislation on children’s rights and child protection online;
- Improving existing legislation on children’s rights and child protection online in order to reinforce children’s rights online as well as child protection mechanisms online;
- Technology:
- Developing an authentication and validation tech infrastructure to enable practical implementation of existing legislation on children’s rights and child protection online;
- Developing additional tech infrastructure in order to reinforce children’s rights online as well as child protection mechanisms online;
- Cooperation:
- Aligning cooperation mechanisms for institutions and organisations responsible for European and national policy-making and policy implementation on children’s rights and child protection online with requirements derived from the practical implementation of existing legislation on children’s rights and child protection online;
- Research:
- Confronting adult assumptions on children’s rights and child protection online with reality.
